Hydrogen Peroxide

It’s been a while since I posted about a favorite product of mine, so here goes! I’m a big fan of hydrogen peroxide. It’s cheap, all-natural and can be used in many ways. I’m guessing most of you have a bottle of this in your home already. But there are so many uses for it that maybe you’ll discover some new ones!

H2O2

Whiten teeth (*use caution w/ amalgam fillings)
Relieve ear infections
Clean counters, tubs, glass
Disinfect cutting boards
Fruit and vegetable wash
Whiten and brighten laundry
Wound care and antiseptic
Disinfect toothbrushes
Brighten nails
Treat various fungal & bacterial infections
Remove mold

Has anyone found other uses for hydrogen peroxide?

  1. I’ve also heard that it isn’t good to rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide if you have metal (amalgam) fillings because there is a chance that it might cause mercury to leach out. It’s a debated point at this time, but just wanted to mention it. 🙂

  2. Yes, it is quite a wonder product! Although, if you use it to cleanse a wound, you might want to dilute it. I still remember J’s screams when he rinsed a cut with full-strength Hydrogen. 😉
